Summary of the BOB VCSE Health Alliance Fourth Quarterly Meeting – 27 April 2022

Over 40 members met online on Thursday the 27th of April, this meeting included an introduction to the recently appointed Chairperson William Butler, and an opportunity for members to pose questions many of which centred around the mechanisms, relationships and dynamics between the VCSE sector and the emerging ICS.

Thank you to all members for your thoughtful contributions.

Breakout spaces provided networking opportunities and encouraged more connections to be made between organisations.

We had an update on the progress made by the Alliance during its first year of development from Partnership Manager Rach Stanton; this is her last week at the Alliance and we are hugely grateful for everything she’s done to get us this far. We’re currently recruiting for her successor.

Finishing off with a discussion around prevention and how we can work together with the ICS to improve prevention initiatives and the benefits and cost savings that can then follow.

Agreed Actions:

  1. Glossary of terms – we are developing a webpage with frequently used terms and their definitions to help clarify specialist terms and acronyms – members to contribute thoughts on terms to be included and explanations

  2. Selection process for Alliance job role – members to email Dawn if they are available W/C 2nd May to help screen candidates (via online interviews)

  3. Sharing Good Practice, News, Case Studies and Member spotlight interviews – members to email Dawn if they have health system related wins or innovations. Links to articles on website or text to be added to the Health Alliance website welcomed. We can then circulate in the email newsletter and encourage members to further share news via their own communications channels whether that is internal to staff or external to their clients.
